HUNTER VALLEY, AUSTRALIA
If there is one place in Australian wine that is hewn of absolute toil and adversity it is the Hunter Valley. The wine history is the oldest in this country and the environment has had a profound influence on the vignerons and wine styles, resulting in a distinct sense of Terrior. While we are old in wine, we are young in the deeper history of this land, and we pay our respects to the Wonnarua people who have nurtured this country as it's custodians for countless millenia. If our humble assay can give it another voice to the stratified story of this land, my hope is to only make it richer.

This blend of Hunter Valley and McLaren Vale Shiraz exemplifies the elegance that was once highly prized for its vibrant fruit expression, juicy acidity and seemingly infinite ability to age. A case in point, dark fruits with layers of complexing Christmas cake all wrapping up in a cape of gentle acidity and silky tannins giving warmth and freshness at the same time. Good now but worth wanting a few years if you can. This is proper old school Shiraz, before the days of too much oak and over ripeness, when fruit and finesse were the order of the day.
Our Rosé has Grenache for spice and beautiful perfume, Mourvèdre for structure and wild brambly notes with Shiraz filling the palate with plushness and fruit depth. Precise and focused, loads of lime and grapefruit with subtle white florals , underpinned by “London Dry Martini with a twist of lime” like power. Juicy and moreish acidity giving crystalline purity with a coiled spring of persistence. This wine will continue to intensify to 10 years at a minimum building complexity as it goes.
